Upcoming Concert:

The St Hilda's Chamber Orchestra presents their largest programme to date, performing Haydn's Symphony No.92 "Oxford" on period instruments. In 1789, Haydn was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Oxford and as part of the celebrations the 92nd Symphony was performed in the town, much in the same way that ensemble ISIS performs new music for visiting composers to this day.

Alongside the Haydn, the orchestra welcomes baroque violinist Marguerite Wassermann, a third year music student at New College, who will perform Jean-Marie Leclair's C major Violin Concerto.

St Hilda's Chamber Orchestra

The St Hilda's Chamber Orchestra is Oxford's only student period instrument orchestra that is dedicated to playing unusual and lesser-known music from the 18th century.
